4. Yatta

This part only describes what you need to get and read to possibly understand yatta because otherwise it would duplicate far too much of its manual. First you really should understand how ivtc (inverse telecine) works. A decent explanation of this can be found in the decomb manual and you really shouldn't think about proceeding until you understand it. The second prerequisite is an understanding of how avisynth scripting works or you'll find it very hard to use presets or other forms of filtering in yatta.

When you've finally read all that it's recommended that you get the yatta manual and follow the instructions in the section "Beginning Encoders" which is a step by step instruction for all basic operations. If the generated avisynth script works properly after hitting "save all overrides" you might want to try to "Switch" a few matches and read about "Sectioning" in the manual to learn how to efficiently apply different filters to different parts of the video (here the avisynth skills are needed). Another option is to look at the next step about simple cropping and resizing before continuing further.

If you get stuck staring at a weird error message or wonder something not explained in the manual you can either ask it in the yatta forum or on irc in #darkhold on irc.chatsociety.net.

Note: YATTA needs several programs and dlls to work properly. Mismatched dvd2avi/dgdecode and mpeg2dec dlls is one of the most common problems.

-When you think it's done do the cropping and resizing in yatta.
